Saundersfoot Recycling Group, under the chairmanship of County Clr. Phil Baker, has seen a novel development in the management of the recycling facilities at Bonvilles Court and the Regency Hall car park. In partnership with Pembrokeshire County Council, the group has agreed to be part of the county-wide 'Adopt-a-site' scheme. The first recycling partners to volunteer to maintain the sites are the 1st St. Issell's Guides, Saundersfoot; the Recycling Group are then able to make grants available to the Guides to assist with their community projects. Their duties will include tidying up the sites and reporting to Pembrokeshire County Council when any skip is almost full. The system has worked exceptionally well and will also lead to the awarding of environmental badges. County Clr. Phil Baker has been most impressed by the enthusiasm and commitment shown by the Guides. "It's great to see the youngsters taking such a pride in their village," he said. "It's a very good omen for the future." Saundersfoot Recycling Group was formed as a result of the most recent Saundersfoot Forum, Local Action Plan, mentored by Planed, with Planed supporting the production and printing of the Saundersfoot Recycling Guides, which have recently been sent to all residents of Saundersfoot. The Recycling Group meetings are held regularly and anyone is most welcome to attend -look out for the posters.
