Advent is a busy time in the life of St. Issell’s Church and the coming week will be one of the busiest (writes H.P.). Not only do we have a wedding blessing and the Saundersfoot CP School Christmas service, but it is the week of our annual Christmas Tree Festival. This begins on Tuesday at 1 pm and will run through to the end of the week. The church festival is supported by organisations and charities from Saundersfoot and there will be a wonderful display of trees. There will be children’s trees from Pebbles Playgroup and St. Issell’s Brownies and Guides, a tree from Saundersfoot Footlights and the local Rotary Club and Cancer Research committees, to name but a few, will also be providing trees.
Also decorating the church will be floral pew ends in memory of loved ones. Why not pop in any day between 10 am and 4 pm and enjoy the ambience of our beautiful Church.
On Saturday, December 16, set amongst the trees we are holding a Christmas craft fayre which is supported with stalls from local crafters and small businesses. Refreshments will be available all day.
The festival ends with a traditional carol service in the church at 5 pm which will be lead by Father Paul Boyle. After the service, we will enjoy mulled wine and mince pies.
All the Christmas dates can be found on our Facebook page and have also been advertised here in the Tenby Observer. We look forward to welcoming you into our church during Advent and please watch out for news of our Christmas Eve services which will include the dressing of the crib - a service for all ages at 4 pm.
