St. Issell’s Church ventured down a new path last weekend when they held a wedding fayre in the church.
Rev. Marianne Osborne was delighted with its success.
She said: “It was a glorious weekend. A celebration of married life. Stalls with suits to hire, beautiful wedding dresses, flowers and numerous other special locally sourced wedding items as far as the eye could see.
“To Have and to Hold was the title of our wedding fayre and we welcomed in prospective brides, grooms and their parents to talk about the joy of a wedding service in your local church; there was much tea, coffee and laughter and that was just amongst the helpers!
“Our weekend closed with an uplifting service of Wagner, Mendelssohn, Pachelbel and other classical pieces, it was a celebration of love and commitment and an opportunity to share so many beautiful hymns and Bible readings to inspire those preparing for their big day.”
St. Issell’s hope to make this an annual event, so if you are a local purveyor of wedding necessities and would like to display your wares at the fayre next year, contact Rev. Marianne Osborne at [email protected]
St. Issell’s has a growing number of Facebook followers, so if you would like to see what is happening in the church, then please do search for them and like their page to keep up-to-date with all their news.
Next event is a parish BBQ on Saturday, June 11, which is being held on the lawn of the Old Mill Caravan and Camping Park. There will be games for the younger attendees and fun for all. Please do come along with a chair, a plate of salad or nibbles and your favourite tipple. This is a weather permitting event and a warm welcome is extended to you, but please do let us know if you are coming along.
