The Friends of St Florence School have given thanks after just over £2,000 was raised from the annual charity ‘Duck Race’ in the village.

This year the event took place on Good Friday, rather than Easter Monday, due to the weather.

A spokesperson said: “Big thank you to everyone for supporting our duck race this year - special thanks to Sam Deakin for the food and Neil Finlay for all the eggs for the Easter egg hunt and prizes.

“Thank you to the parents and community for making cakes, BBQ, teddy stall, getting in the river, use of electric.

“We have raised just over £2,000 which is a massive amount for a small event. See you next year!
