Five councillors were present at the recent meeting of St. Florence Community Council.
During public participation, two members of the WI were present to discuss the colour scheme of the Village Hall. The colours were discussed and it was decided to have a mixture of white and a hint of yellow.
The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and one of the councillors stated that he had declined to vote on the Heatherton planning application; the clerk noted this. The minutes were proposed as an accurate record and this was seconded and all councillors were in agreement.
The co-option of two councillors had received no interest from the advert, but previous councillor Ms. K. Treherne expressed an interest by letter to the clerk. Ms. Treherne left the room and councillors voted on her co-option. All councillors were in favour, Ms. Treherne was welcomed back to the room and welcomed as a council member.
The clerk informed the council she had spoken to the chairman of the village association regarding the music licence. The licence they held did not cover the playing of music, therefore the council would go ahead and renew the music licence.
The matter of loose stones at the ford had been carried over from the previous meeting in the hope it could be brought to the attention of the county councillor. The clerk was asked to contact Pembrokeshire County Council directly.
An estimate for an additional CCTV camera was discussed. The camera would cover a larger portion of the playing field enabling it to pick out dogs which were still being walked on the field and offer extra security to the hall. All councillors were in favour of having the extra camera.
The lime tree had been assessed by a tree surgeon and complete removal had been recommended. Two quotes had been received and the successful company would be informed by the clerk.
