Among matters discussed at the last meeting of St. Florence Community Council were the following: Progress on ongoing issues: After consultation, Pembrokeshire County Council agreed to move the Gumfreston road sign closer to the village and the police were to be approached to take action against the speeds that vehicles are travelling through the village. Pembrokeshire County Council were to be asked for a schedule of the grass cutting in this area. The application to convert the Public Entertainment License is nearing completion and would be submitted to the licensing department. Once the costs of the licenses had been ascertained and other costs had been reviewed, a list of revised charges for the hire of the hall would be submitted for approval. The low wall to separate the entrance to the Village Hall from the playing field had been completed. The painting of the Village Hall and the maintenance needed would be discussed at the next meeting. Planning: Permission had been granted for the erection of six dwellings on land adjacent to Elm Grove, St. Florence, and for a storage shed for tractors, hay and implements to be erected at Trefalun Park, Devonshire Drive, St. Florence. Any other business: Pembrokeshire County Council requested that the public should be encouraged to act quickly and inform the police if there was any indication of an illegal rave being organised. A new oil tank was to be installed at the Village Hall. The matter was raised and discussed that in order for planning requests to be brought to the attention of the public, Pembrokeshire County Council should forward the applications earlier, there should be more information supplied and more attention and response to concerns raised by the community council. Next meeting: The next meeting will be held at the St. Florence Village Hall on Monday, September 12.
