A frequent winner in the Wales in Bloom competitions, St Florence is one of Pembrokeshire's most delightful villages. It is hard to imagine now, but the Ritec Estuary used to reach as far as St. Florence, and the village functioned as a port in mediaeval times. A Flemish chimney survives, while the dwellings, inns, shop and school group around the 13th century church with its Norman tower.
St. Florence nestles in the heart of the countryside. For an uplifting experience of rural Pembrokeshire, try one of the footpaths leading away from the village, or a ride along the winding road to Penally. Near the top of the village is Grandiflora garden centre. There you can visit Bramleys Tea Room for delicious fare served in a pine log cabin.
On the main road above St. Florence you will find Manor House Wildlife Park - an experience the whole family can enjoy. The same can be said for Heatherton Country Sports Park, which offers extensive golf facilities, archery, bumper boats, go-carts, paintball, horse-riding and other country sports.
