Twr y Felin Hotel in St Davids has taken second place in the new 2022 AA Accessible Award category, which recognises establishments that have gone above and beyond to champion inclusivity in the hospitality sector.
Amongst the industry’s most prestigious and highly anticipated events, the awards were announced at a black tie event held on Monday, September 26 at the Grosvenor House, JW Marriott Hotel on London’s Park Lane.
A former windmill and Wales first art hotel, Twr y Felin was renovated, and later extended, with accessibility in mind in order to allow all guests to experience the hotel to the full.
Delighted with the hotel’s achievement, Emma Bowen, General Manager said; “To be a runner-up for a national award in its first year and be recognised as one of the UK’s leading accessible hotels makes us very proud.”
Twr y Felin’s 41 luxurious bedrooms include two accessible rooms offering two bathrooms: one standard and one wet room with assistance rails and space for a wheelchair. There are lifts to all upper floors, hearing loops, accessible ground floor toilets and designated disabled parking bays close to the main entrance.
All guests are asked if they have any dietary requirements or allergies to ensure the chefs can prepare dishes to suit in the hotels’ fine dining AA three rosette Blas restaurant.
In case of emergency, guests with accessible requirements also have a personal emergency evacuation plan specific to their mobilisation abilities.
