An amazing coffee morning, one not to be missed, is being held in Templeton Village Hall on Saturday, February 27.
It's in celebration of St. David's Day with the festivities starting from 10.30 am until approximately 12.30 pm.
Following the success of their last Macmillan coffee morning, the Templeton girls are doing it again!
This time to help with locals Donna and Kevin Longhurst's London Marathon Challenge by raising money for both Macmillan Cancer Support and Sandy Bears, which is a Pembrokeshire children's charity that helps bereaved children deal with the loss of a loved one through illness.
Said Donna: "This event has had an amazing amount of support from friends, family and local businesses and all the products that will be eaten or drunk at the event have been generously donated by all of these amazing people, including the raffle prizes, which has resulted in the raffle prizes accumulating a total of well over a £1,000."
The prizes are really something to see, as only a small collection has able to be shown in our picture.
The top prize, worth approximately £280, is 500 litres of home heating oil (thanks to K. P. Thomas and Son), but others are a 26" 18 speed ladies mountain Bike (Bumper to Bumper), a family portrait session with award winning local photographer Ross Grieve and framed print, a pair of Scarlets Tickets (Radio Pembrokeshire), signed Welsh Rugby shirt by Scott Quinnell, Callaway Pro golf bag and umbrella (Total), Total weekend trolley bag, Total ladies Regatta jacket in a duffle bag, Beckhams ladies perfume gift set (Lloyds Pharmacy), Sweet Inspirations gift voucher, meat voucher (Andrew Rees),VIP tickets to Folly Farm and approximately 20 different hampers made up to cover a huge range of goodies, including wine, spirits, gardening etc.
Added Donna: "There's so many to name individually, but they have to be seen to be believed!"
Representatives from both charities will be there and also Radio Pembrokeshire who will be broadcasting live from the event, so the children will have the chance to meet and greet with Sandy Bear, as well as local celebrity Pedr the Puffin, and maybe even get on air!
Admission will cost £2.50 which will include tea/coffee and a selection of home-made cakes, while raffle tickets will cost just a £1 a strip. There will also be a cake stall where you can buy home-made goods, a book stall, bric-a-brac stall and even a little something to keep the children happy.
So even if the credit crunch has got you, or you feel charity begins at home, now is the chance to help all ways.
Concluded Donna: "This is an event not to be missed, with well over £1,000 worth of prizes, a nice cuppa and a cake, the joy helping a good cause and best of all and not to be missed - our amazing Templeton Welsh Welcome. See you there"
