'ST. BRIDES Pembrokeshire' by Dorothy Willcock, of Haverfordwest, has just been printed.
The 44-page booklet, with photographs, maps and diagrams, describes St. Brides Church, Abbey and Castle and the Laugharne, Philipps and Edwards families who lived in the area.
There are chapters on the Eight Barons (the Lords Kensington), the Kensington Estate, local archaeology and the opening of St. Brides Castle as a TB hospital. Also featured is the restoration by Friends of Pembrokeshire National Park of the Tangye Engine and Pump-house at St. Brides Haven, built to supply the castle with fresh water.
