Officers from Pembrokeshire County Council and the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park are to be invited to monitor Tenby's Tudor Square on a Saturday evening before finalising any enhancement plans for the town centre.

Speaking at a meeting of Tenby Town Council on Tuesday night, Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, said that the suggestion had come out of a meeting of the new 'Tenby Connect' forum held at Augustus Place Community Centre last week.

Representatives of the enhancement project developers, Capita Symonds, and county council officers met with town councillors recently to give a presentation on the proposed plans, which incorporate reintroducing the Dyster Memorial Fountain to the square.

"I think it would be wise for the officers and developers to see Tudor Square at that time of night to see how everything works with regard to taxis parking and turning in the centre. At the 'Tenby Connect' meeting, when discussing the plans, members of the Tenby Taxi Association did raise concerns with certain aspects of the plans," said Clr. Mrs. Lane.

Town councillors have urged anyone with feedback forms, given out by the developers, to hand them in to the town council offices before the weekend, as they were looking to formulate their overall views on the proposals for the square ahead of a meeting on March 31.
