A superb evening of music performed by some of Pembrokeshire’s leading young musicians will be held at Sir Thomas Picton School on Saturday, November 12.
The ‘Spotlight Concert’ will showcase the talents of the winners of the Valero Secondary Music Festival, which will be held earlier the same day.
The concert will include performances from the individual winners from the strings, brass, woodwind, percussion, vocal, jazz, piano and ensemble categories, as well as the winners of the instrumental and vocal ensemble competitions.
The event is organised by Pembrokeshire County Council’s music service and sponsored by Valero.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to witness the exceptional talents of some of our foremost young musicians,” said Clr. David Lloyd, cabinet member for education. “I am certain it will be a magnificent evening.”
Stephen Thornton, refinery public affairs manager at Valero, said: “The quality of our young musicians is a testament to the creativity and enthusiasm of pupils, schools and tutors here in Pembrokeshire.
“Valero is proud to continue our longstanding support for music education in our schools and we are looking forward to another successful event this year.”
The Spotlight Concert will take place at 5 pm at Sir Thomas Picton School, Haverfordwest, on November 12. Tickets are available on the door for £5 or £3 concessions. Cheese and wine are included.
