On a sunny Saturday afternoon at the King George V Playing Fields, it took Saundersfoot's second side a while to warm up, but once they got fired up, they blazed away from visitors St. Ishmaels, winning 8-1 in the end.
With the away team only able to field 10 men, they knew they were in for a long afternoon against an in-form Saundersfoot side, but to be fair to St Ishmaels, they dug deep during the first half and worked hard to frustrate their opponents.
Saundersfoot made the breakthrough with half-an-hour gone, when Grant Hardy took advantage of a mix-up on the edge of the visitors' box between goalkeeper and defence to slot into an empty net. However, credit to St. Ishmaels, who from the kick-off hit back when Lyndon Clarke somehow managed to break through and squeeze in an equaliser under Saundersfoot 'keeper Danny Brace.
With the scores level going into the second-half, both teams were keen to try their luck from distance and it was one of these efforts that gave Sports the lead when Tom Spencer's speculative lob crept in under the bar.
From there on St. Ishmaels' resistance was broken and midfielders Carl Wainwright and Richard Rossiter added to the lead with a couple of fine finishes.
At 4-1, the introduction of fresh legs paid dividends, with Peter Rattenbury rifling in an attempt through a crowded penalty box, while Scott Davison grabbed a brace from close range. Paul Evans completed the rout with a header from a corner to make the final score a convincing 8-1 at the final whistle.
