St. Oswald's VA School held its first Sports Day on the The Rectory Field, Jeffreyston, last week. Despite the slight dampening due to persistent drizzle, parents and pupils were able to enjoy a full afternoon of sport. All pupils took part in the events and the final result saw Carradoc as winners of the Wycraft Challenge Trophey. Second place went to Elidyr, with Leonard and Jeffrey third and fourth, respectively. Father Paul performed the duties of starter for the races. A huge thank you to all of the staff for organising the day, especially Mrs. Flood. The day concluded with a school fte organised jointly between the school and the Friends' of St. Oswalds, which rounded off a thoroughly successful afternoon.
