Saundersfoot Community Council are setting up a ‘task group’ to discuss where new electronic ‘speed warning’ signs are to be set up within the seaside village.

Councillors have long received reports concerning vehicles speeding in areas such as The Ridgeway and Sandyhill Road.

The Community Council has been handed funds from the ‘Enhancing Pembrokeshire Grant’ to allow the purchase of the Electronic Speed Alerters.

A number of photographs and several emails, raising concerns, have been received by the Clerk of vehicles speeding on the Ridgeway.

The Clerk has now been tasked to collect any evidence of vehicles speeding or parking inappropriately in the areas highlighted.

The Task and Finish group will include members – Councillors Cormack, Cole, Ludlow, Williams BEM, Knibbs and County Councillor Chris Williams.

It was concluded that the relevant working party will meet and discuss the information provided by Pembrokeshire County Council officers. This information includes four potential locations for the signage.

Cllr Cormack confirmed that he had made initial enquiries into the cost of the signage and the installation of such.

The Clerk is to contact East Williamston Community Council and request information relating to the signage they are currently using.
