The spectacular Christmas lights display at St. Mary's Place, Kilgetty, raised the magnificent sum of £11,000 for charity. On Monday, cheques for £5,500 were presented to representatives of the two benefiting causes, the Chemotherapy Day Unit at Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest, and Marie Curie West Wales, by the village's own Mr. and Mrs. Christmas, Audrey and Peter Thomas, who spearheaded the display. Audrey is seen, front left, making the presentation to Gina Beard and Suzann Hughes, of the Chemotherapy Day Unit, while Audrey and Peter's daughter, Donna Longhurst, who with sponsorship from K. P. Thomas and Son, helped Santa reply to a record-breaking 1,400-plus letters posted in his special post-box, is seen front right, handing over a cheque to Jane Evans, of Marie Curie. Also pictured is Peter Thomas, Dai Thomas, who sponsored the sweets Santa gave to all the children on opening night, and Gerald Rogers, who arranged for Santa's visit.
