Sir,
You were kind enough to acknowledge (June 4) a recent talk about a number of local celebrities which I gave to members of the Narberth and District Probus Club. When so many facts about different people were involved, it was inevitable you might receive an error of misreporting.
I would like to make it clear that Jonathan Cope, who before achieving major international stardom lived as a young boy in Saundersfoot, is and has been for many years the principal male dancer with the Royal Ballet at Covent Garden, London.
He has had a spectacular career, accomplished through long training, hard work and dedication. Your readers will no doubt he aware that one of his biggest triumphs was earlier this year in the leading role of Kenneth MacMillan's ballet 'Mayerling' and he presently appears in the revival of the Covent Garden production 'Onegin'.
As Jonathan took his first dance steps at a Saundersfoot ballet class, South Pembrokeshire can take pride in playing a part in the foundation of Jonathan's worldwide success.
Guy Thomas,
