Chairman of Tenby Round Table and the town's harbourmaster, Carl Evans, got a birdseye view of the resort at the weekend when he was one of 79 hardy souls who took part in a 180-foot charity bungee jump during Sunday's second Summer Spectacular.

In association with Freefall Bungee, Wales, the brave jumpers, who were encouraged to be sponsored in aid of the Welsh Air Ambulance Appeal or charities of their choice, were watched by a crowd of spectators, who despite the grey skies, flocked to the natural amphitheatre of the North Bay to enjoy the day-long festival of entertainment organised by members of the Round Table.

The event, which will benefit a host of local charities and good causes, featured Kiln Park's Bradley Bear show, circus skills from Jugglestruck, a rescue display by Tenby Coastguards, Wacky Wayne's roadshow and Claudio's golf trick show.

Claudio, who works at the Giltar Hotel, is currently the world record holder at keeping a golf ball in the air with a club without dropping it.

Tablers were delighted with his performance on Sunday and would like to wish him luck when he takes part in the New York Marathon where he will run the whole course keeping a golf ball in the air with a club.

Tenby Lifeboat, the RFA Sir Galahad, also launched during the extravaganza, which also had a fly-over from the Wales Air Ambulance.

There was also live music from the Rainkings and Mustard Mitt, before the event came to a rousing climax with a spectacular firework show by Joe Cameron, of Fireworks FX.

"The day was again another success for the town and on behalf of Tablers I would like to thank everyone who helped and contributed towards such a memorable day," said Carl.

"Special thanks go to all the event sponsors, plus the harbour residents and users," he added.
