SPAN Arts is really proud to announce that a very special performer will be playing at the Queen's Hall, Narberth, on August 28.
Chris Smither is a true legend of American acoustic music. Born in New Orleans, Chris is a performer of astonishing power and presence. Acclaimed as one of the best guitarists in modern blues, a singer of unique power and emotionality and a songwriter who is routinely described as a genius, it's hard to think of another performer of equal gravitas and authority in contemporary Americana.
After his 1970 debut album 'I'm a Stranger Too!', he has stayed true to his musical muse through a long career of refinement, growth and discovery. His songs have been covered by Emmylou Harris and Diana Krall, and he is acclaimed as one of the most potent and spellbinding live performers in the world.
Support comes from the wonderful Lowri Evans, whose delicate yet powerful singing, superb songwriting and warm, charming stage presence have endeared her to audiences far beyond her native Pembrokeshire.
Chris Smither is a performer who, once seen, will never be forgotten. This is a rare chance to see an international star of acoustic blues with the very best of local musical talent, and advanced booking is very strongly recommended.
Doors open 7.30, Lowri Evans 8-8.45, Chris Smither 9-9.50, 10.15-11.05.
