A good congregation gathered on Sunday afternoon for the monthly communion service at Sardis Congregatonal Chapel. The preacher was Pastor Peter Morgan from Manorbier who, accompanied by his wife, conducted a relevant and enjoyable service.

At the close of the hour’s worship, the organist, Stuart Treharne, surprised two members of the congregation by calling them forward. Mr Newton Griffiths and Mrs. Janice Jones have served the chapel for many years as secretary and treasurer, and have recently retired from these posts. In appreciation of all their years of service, Newton and Janice were presented with gifts, and thanked for all the work they have so faithfully done through the years.

A long table was then laid, and spread with all sorts of delicious fare, both savoury and sweet, which was enjoyed by members and visiting family alike.

The service this Sunday will as usual be at 2.30 pm, and will be conducted by the Rev. Elizabeth Squires from Pembroke Dock. A warm welcome is extended to all.
