Local arts organisation Span Arts will be hosting the Wales Milennium Centre’s Awen bus, this Sunday, August 16, 10 am - 5 pm in the Town Moor car park.

The Awen bus is part of the Ar Waith Ar Daith programme of events organised by outdoor events company Walk The Plank and culminating in a magical celebration for the 10th anniversary of the Wales Millennium Centre.

The bus tour takes place in August until the beginning of September and will be visiting artists and communities all around Wales, before the finale event taking place in Cardiff Bay on Saturday, September 12. The Awen bus will travel the length and breadth of Wales, meeting and engaging with artists, performers and public alike, creating short web-friendly video showcases of artwork and digitally connecting everybody to a magic cauldron in the foyer of the Wales Millennium Centre!

Local artist, performer and director of Feral Theatre Company, Emily Laurens, said: “I am extremely excited about getting involved in Walk The Plank’s latest venture. I love that they are visiting communities throughout Wales in order to connect our capital to the rest of the country. This is the furthest west they will be coming on the tour, so hopefully we will be able to show them the best that West Wales has to offer!”

The bus is looking for artists from all genres to visit the bus and record ‘gifts’ to the Wales Millennium Centre that showcase the arts and culture of Wales in 2015. The gifts can be poetry, performance, song, visual arts; all art forms are welcome on the Awen Bus.

Space within the on-board studio is limited, so if you or your group want to come and record your gifts, please get in touch with [email protected] to book a space or for more information visit their Facebook event https://www.facebook.com/events/754863391291204/
