Ladies Report

On Wednesday, September 10, the captain's team played against the vice-captain's team on a dry, but windy day. The captain's team won 2/1.

The following day, Ria Phillips, Sara Davies and Ros Williams represented the club in the Three Counties Open Day at Glynhir. The girls were very brave playing in atrociously wet conditions, but were rewarded by taking first place.

Saturday, September 13 saw the ladies' charity day which was held to raise money for Macmillan West Wales Appeal. The weather was glorious resulting in over £1,000 being raised. Thank you to all who participated or gave donations.

The format was teams of three with the best two stableford points counting.

First prizes of crystal went to Mike Swain, Danny Overend and Peter Harris. Second prizes were won by Jane and John Parsons and Brian Phillips.

The 2s competition was shared between John Parsons and Mark Evans.

A Stableford competition on Wednesday, September 17, for Cancer Relief was won by Sara Davies with 38 points. Sara has reduced her handicap. Second was Viv James.

Friday, September 19, saw the last Three Counties match against Haverfordwest sadly due to reduced numbers available to play, the match resulted in a loss.

Those who played welcomed the lovely sunny afternoon. It was good to be able to wear summer gear for once.

Overall, we have won five matches and lost four of our league games.

Seniors

Wet weather has reduced the amount of golf played. However, the eclectic completion continues. This week's best performances came from Mal Roberts, David Davies and Frank O'Sullivan.

The Seniors enjoyed an away day at Bancyfelin. Fred Mountney and Peter Daniels led took the star prizes after playing some excellent golf on an away course.

An away day is planned at Inco on Thursday, November 6. Those interested should put their name on the list in the clubhouse as soon as possible.
