At last we have some warm weather and we are back in our short-sleeved shirts. It is the start of our membership year and it is nice to welcome new members. In particular, it is good to see an increase in the number of junior members Planning is underway for Open Week which takes place from July 20. The club always welcomes sponsorship of each hole on the course. Any members with ideas on this or any other aspect of Open Week should contact Mick Seal.

Seniors

Seniors played their third Summer League match this week. There were some good scores and some bad ones. The good scores were from Peter Daniels (37), Vince Simes (36) and Doug Weston (35) In the last two weeks, the Seniors have had excellent team wins. First they had a convincing win against a strong Glyna Abbey team and last week they beat a good St. Davids team by four matches to two. On Tuesday, we had a Texas Scramble, which was won by Ken Chichester and Brian Phillips. From the moment the pairs were drawn, it always looked like a strong pair. Already knocked out of the main Seniors Classic competition, the South Pembs team is drawn at home to Allt-y-Graban. Some forthcoming events for the diary: Tuesday, May 20 - Greensomes competition; Thursday, May 22 - Trefloyne away; Thursday, May 29 - Tenby away; Thursday, June 5 - Trefloyne home; Saturday, June 21 - Seniors Open Day.
