It was half-term this week and it was good to see enthusiastic youngsters out practising. Among them were two who had saved their Christmas and birthday money to become new members. Members are starting to liaise with local schools to encourage children to play golf. At the other end of the age range, the Seniors were out on Tuesday. Peter Daniels won with an excellent 40 points, John George was second with 36 and Fred Mountney came back from his two weeks in the sun and just managed to claim third place. South Pembs. took part in the first round of the 'Mail on Sunday' golf tournament at Milford Haven, on Sunday, against Milford. The club were represented by Phil Ledwood, Neil Thomas, Mark Evans, Vernon Phillips and Bob Veale. It was a hard fought match and ended in a 3-2 victory for South Pembs. Congratulations to them.
