Over in Manorbier Newton, the Swanlake boys won a close match with the Mariners by 206-198. Mark Bowen scored 33 for the Swanlake team, with Andrew Shaw and Dylan Morris bagging 31 clays each for the men from Laugharne.
Mel Mathews, with a very good 35 for the Jeffreyston team, and David Lewis, scoring 34 for the Highgate side, headed the scoring in their match, which saw the Jeffreyston boys beat the Highgate team 213-175.
Continuing their home winning sequence, the Swanlake team beat the Lodge side 184-161, with Mark Bowen and Richard Borrowdale scoring 29 and 30, respectively.
Jeffreyston 199 The Lodge 225: Top shots in this match were Mel Mathews and Martin Brodie with 33 apiece for the Jeffreyston side and Adrian Jones with a fine 36 for the Lodge.
With the long trip from Hundleton to Laugharne, no, change that to Whitland, the Highgate team, using all the navigational aids available, together with the Mariners captain's directions in real time and a search party, finally managed to coax capitano Vance out of the Llandowror hills and to the shooting ground to finally make up the minimum seven shooters.
The Mariners finished 212-145 winners, with Cewydd Jones and Kevin Higgon on 32 apiece and Bert and PB on 24 for the Highgate team.
Swanlake 175 Wisemans 206: Breaking their home winning sequence, the Wisemans team brought the Swanlake boys down to earth, with top shot Gavin Smith scoring 32 for the Wisemans and Mel James on 28 for the home team.
Highgate 171 Swanlake 195: Never to let a divot grow under his foot, Emline Hallett talked everyone through his top shot score of 32 as part of a 'masterclass' performance he has been promising for 16 years (seriously though, well done Emlyn).
Terry Jones nearly spoiled Emlyn's party with another 32 for the away team.
Throughout the shoot, Mr. Ince managed to purloin cartridges from Ned Evans, only to attempt to profit by Ned's charitable gesture and sell off his surplus after the shoot.
Oh by the way, Tyler, you owe your father £5.
