The new season commenced on a very blustery day last Sunday. However, the quality of the shooting appeared unaffected by the weather conditions. This season the competition is based on a 30-bird shoot. Results were as follows:
Quay 144 Hope 123: top shots - Steve Cole (26 Quay), John Webb (24 Hope). No surprises here as the league winners from last year had home advantage and recorded their first win.
Redberth Lodge 121 Tudor Lodge 103: top shots - Pat Casement (22 Redberth), David Bowen (21 Tudor). Redberth started the season with a good home win against last year's wooden spoon winners. However, examining the individual scores reveals that Tudor have recruited some good shooters this year.
Wisemans Bridge 110 Parsonage 97: tops shots - Tony Ormond (25 Wisemans), Darrel Griffiths (22 Parsonage). A good start to the season for Wisemans. With a few new good recruits it will be interesting to see if they can keep this form throughout the season. Tony Ormond must be pleased with himself, being top shot on the day, or was his new gun a 'magic wand'!
