Bea Bea Meyrick from South Pembrokeshire Hunt Branch of the Pony Club recently took part in the Horse of the Year Show in Birmingham.

Competing in the Underwood Working Hunter of the Year Competition, Bea riding Crabbswood Nutmeg came a very impressive fifth.

Twenty-one qualifying competitions were held across the country for the event and Bea and Nutty qualified at the Shropshire and West Midlands Show in June.

At the Horse of the Year Show, the pair were competing against the very best from across the country and put in a superb performance to finish in the rosettes.

Bea who is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Meyrick, of Gumfreston, has had an extremely successful year.

As well as competing at HOYS, Bea Bea has also taken part in tetrathlons with pony club, and was a member of the branches team that won the area dressage and area eventing competitions, and represented the area at the Pony Club National Championships.

Nutty and Bea also won the National Schools Eventing Championships at Stonar in May and competed at the Royal International.

Meanwhile, she was selected to represent Wales in the Working Hunter Inter-Team Competition at the BSPS Summer Championships where they came second out of 11 teams from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
