Over half term, South Pembrokeshire Hunt Branch of the Pony Club held their annual Pony Club Camp at Cresselly Home Farm. It was a busy week for the 50 children who attended camp and enjoyed a range of riding activities, including dressage, cross country, show jumping, stable management and everyone's favourite mounted games. The younger children even enjoyed a ride to Cresswell Quay through the woods. A special camp was organised for the three youngest riders in Pony Club held at Jeffreyston! During the week, Bob Edwards, Jack Goldsworthy Spuffard and Tudor Hurle joined in some of the main camp activities, but also enjoyed their own mini camp. Despite the bad weather, all the children really enjoyed their week, which finished up with a fun competition for all the riders, with the winners being awarded rosettes. There was also a team competition during the week and congratulations to the winning team, the Show Jumpers! At the prize-giving, awards were also made to the most improved riders in each ride, who were Ivan Levinski, Billy Kinear, Lucy Davies, Edward Hurle, Izzy Rees, Jodie Dickinson, Hannah Gray and Jess Hunt. During the evenings, the children enjoyed a trip to the beach, a barbecue and a fun evening at the Dinosaur Park, kindly provided by Mr. and Mrs. Simon Meyrick. All the children would like to say a big thank you to their instructors and the organisers for an excellent week. Five riders from the branch unfortunately had to miss camp as they were selected to represent Area 18 of Pony Club at the Stockland Lovell Tetrathlon. Emily Pellington, Alice Simon, Cethin Ravenhill, Bea Bea Meyrick and Jack Goldsworthy Spuffard all did extremely well in the event. Jack did particularly well to come fourth overall and be selected to represent the Area in the National Championships. Well done Jack.
