It has been another busy few weeks for members of South Pembrokeshire Hunt Pony Club. As well as last week's Pony Show (results to follow next week), members have also been taking part in show jumping rallies, tetrathlon competitions, cross country training and the pony cavalcade at the Carew 500 celebrations. During the Easter holidays, 10 riders took part in the Brecon tetrathlon. On the first day, the competition was made up of pistol shooting, swimming and cross country running and then the following day they travelled back to Brecon to take part in the cross country riding. The team was made up of Tiffany Roach, Chloe Golsborough, Emily Pellington, Alice Simon, Harriet Morgan, Ele Scourfield, Jack Goldsworthy-Spuffard, Edward Andrews, Tom Kinnear and Fred Meyrick. Edward, Tom and Fred were competing in their first cross country tetrathlon and all three did well and hopefully enjoyed themselves. In the minimus, Jack Goldsworthy-Spuffard did extremely well to go clear on the cross country course, while Harriet Morgan recorded the top shoot. In the junior girls, Alice Simon came fourth in the team event, while the senior girls' team of Tiff, Chloe and Emily came third, with Emily coming an excellent second overall and winning the best swim. Nine riders then took part in the area tetrathlon at Pembrey at the end of April. Competing for the first time in the minimus boys was Edward Hurle, who did extremely well in his first tetrathlon. The rest of team was made up of Jack Goldsworthy-Spuffard, Fred Meyrick, Harriet Morgan, Ele Scourfield, Alice Simon, Tiffany Roach, Chloe Golsborough and Emily Pellington. Once again, the minimus team did well, with Jack coming fifth in the minimus boys, Harriet coming third in the girls, while Ele Scourfield did extremely well to win top shoot. Not to be beaten, the intermediate girls also did well, with Emily coming third (and awarded best swim) and Tiff coming fifth. As a result of their success at these events, Jack Goldsworthy-Spuffard, Harriet Morgan, Alice Simon, Emily Pellington and Tiffany Roach have been selected to represent the area pony club at Stockland Lovell, near Taunton, at half-term.
