St. Mary’s Soupermen were delighted to donate £500 to the charity Bloodwise. The cheque was presented to John Lewis by Terry Evans and Denis Chiffi.

Bloodwise has been very supportive of John who is in remission and recovering well from leukaemia. With the help of Bloodwise, he was given a bone marrow transplant which has led to his remarkable recovery.

It is only with the continued support of the Soupermen functions that the group is able to donate to various charities on a regular basis, averaging £1,000 per annum. Indeed, the Soupermen held a coffee morning last Saturday which was very successful raising £415, including a generous donation of £100.

The next function is the Easter Supper which will be held on Sunday, April 10. Details of the menu and times will be published soon.

The Soupermen, the idea of Canon Andrew Grace, is a group of men who enjoy a unique camaraderie which epitomises St. Mary’s approach to the community while catering for events large and small. If any man would like to join us, please contact the secretary, Terry Evans, on 844256, or speak to any Souperman - we will be delighted to meet you.
