Manorbier Newton Fundraisers held their ‘soup and pudding’ lunch earlier this month raising over £1,000 for charity.

The event was held on Saturday, February 8, in Lamphey Village Hall, and the organisers were thrilled with the fantastic support and are pleased to announce that they raised £1177. 20 for The Pembrokeshire Counselling Service.

There were two hours of hectic activity both in the kitchen and in the hall, catering for over 100 people. All the tables were beautifully laid and decorated with spring floral arrangements.

Visitors from all over the county, relaxed over their lunch, chatting with old friends and making new ones.

Along with four flavours of soup, there was a tempting array of desserts both hot and cold, making the decisions quite difficult. At least you could have a takeaway as well!

The organisers would like to thank everyone for supporting this event and consequently an important local charity.

They also appreciate all the extra help from our supportive friends for washing up, clearing tables, waitressing, raffle and food donations and for taking care of the finances.

“The Pembrokeshire Counselling Service have warmly thanked us for raising a significant amount of money - they are a registered charity, helping Pembrokeshire people who are facing difficulties in their lives, offering independent counselling to improve their mental health and well being,” said one of the event’s organisers Cheryl Hewitt.
