At the handover dinner of the Tenby and District Soroptimist International Club, held at Heywood Mount Hotel, president Dilys Jenkinson was delighted to welcome Sian Slack, chairman of Tenby Ladies Circle. She also sent get well wishes to Mrs. Pat Matthews, president of Tenby Inner Wheel, who was unable to attend.
Following an excellent meal, president Dilys thanked her officers for all their hard-work, support and advice. This she did, presenting them with gifts of beautiful lace handkerchiefs made by member Mrs. Doreen Hammersley.
In turn, she was given a silver, crystal and painted bead bracelet, the beads from a village project in Nairobi, from the club members as a memento and a thank you for her presidential year.
Incoming president Jenny Deverson was presented with the chain of office and she in turn presented president-elect Sonia Evans with her insignia.
President Jenny thanked the members for entrusting her with the chair and said she would do her utmost to maintain the standards set by her predecessors.
She was very pleased to be able to start her year with the installation of new member Sam Turner and asked her fellow members to join with her and Sam in saying the 'Soroptimist Pledge'.
