Welcoming members to the business meeting on June 2, president Jenny said that it had been a very busy May.

In addition to the normal club meeting, there had been a regional meeting, programme action meeting, executive meeting, book club meeting and eight members had attended the 'All Wales Study Day' at Aberystwyth University.

She warned them that the month of June looked equally as hectic. She had attended the Ladies Circle dinner, which had been most enjoyable, and had had invitations to the Lions dinner and the Inner Wheel lunch.

At the executive meeting, the first item discussed had been the Charity Fashion Show for the Paul Sartori Fund.

Jenny was delighted to report the marquee was being left in the grounds after the previous evening's event at the Heywood Mount Hotel, and it would seat 120 people. The stage was also being left.

The fund was providing clothes and models, as were T. P. Hughes.

The next item was the Cream Tea to be held in the garden of member Margaret Hughes, and it was agreed that tickets would be done now for early sale.

The third item was the Winter Craft Fair, which this year would have to have a new venue.

A provisional booking had been made at the Regency Hall where there was parking and catering facilities, as well as the space required for the crafters.

Secretary Sonia then reported that the region was having a stand at the County Show and needed help stewarding it.

Names were taken and the list would be taken to the club meeting for more volunteers.

Instead of giving a verbal report of the regional meeting, minute secretary Judy said, as it had been a very long and detailed meeting, a written copy was available.

Treasurer Rosemary reported that donations had been received from several clubs in the Wales South region towards the seat in memory of Dr. Olga Ryland.

Reporting on the study day, secretary Sonia gave an amusing account of the day entitled 'Ageing With Dignity', with the final speaker and organiser of the event reducing the delegates to tears with her talk on the 'Ageing Dentician'.

PA officer Ann reported that the Slavery School Competition was progressing well, and there was still correspondence arriving from the Assembly regarding the Pensioner Poverty project.

On the subject of FGM, Wendy said that completed petitions were coming in, and as last year some would be taken to the Women in Wales Day at the Botanic Gardens, also to the County Show.

A back-to-back exhibition on Slavery/Trafficking and FGM would be mounted at the Women in Wales Day.

Reports from social secretary Eiona and link club secretary Margaret brought the meeting to a close, with president Jenny reminding members that the June supper meeting was on Tuesday when short films relevant to SI projects would be shown.
