Bob Reeves was born and bred in Pembrokeshire and freely admits that he is still fascinated by the beauty of the place in all its rhythms and seasons. He remarks that the sky is always full of the sea and the quite magical light has a marvellous salt-washed quality.

"Wherever you are in Pembrokeshire, the sea always seems to be only over the next hedge."

A gifted painter and sculptor, whose work is much sought after and featured in many private collections, he is also a poet with three well received published collections to his name.

Rees never seeks to explain or justify his work, believing that the reaction to painting, poetry or sculpture is very personal. His work juxtaposes sensitivity and lightness of touch with an almost primitive, physical power. Indeed the late, revered Professor Gwyn Alf Williams once described Reeves' work as "that arresting fusion of the stark, the lyrical and the profane."

The exhibition 'Song of the West Wind' - also the title of his first book - is an artist's emotional response to the magic that is Pembrokeshire.

The exhibition is to be held at Tenby Museum and Art Gallery from Monday, November 5 to Friday, November 23 (Monday to Friday 10 am to 5 pm).
