Every day in the UK, six young people aged 13 to 24 are told they have cancer. This festive season, actress Angela Griffin is joining forces with Yorkshire Building Society and Teenage Cancer Trust in a fight to help the 2,100 teenagers diagnosed with cancer every year.
Anyone who calls into the society's Tenby branch at Tower House can support Teenage Cancer Trust by purchasing adorable cuddly reindeer stocking fillers or a choice of four collectable, retro Rainbow badges.
The funds raised in the Tenby branch will be matched pound for pound by the Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation, meaning every £1 donated automatically becomes £2 for the charity!
Teenage Cancer Trust, the national charity, exists to improve the lives of teenagers and young adults diagnosed with cancer.
The charity understands that young people have the best chance of a positive outcome if they are treated by teenage cancer experts in an environment tailored to their needs.
So they fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals that are designed with teenagers in mind.
As well as specialist units, Teenage Cancer Trust funds and organises a number of other services all with the same goal - to help young people fight cancer.
