Perfect conditions again greeted the annual Andrew Price/Tenby Round Table Soccer Sevens.
Thirty-six teams from around the county and as a far as Cardiff, Cwmbran, Newport, Carmarthen, Caerphilly and Swansea battled for the trophies in three age groups, under eight, under 10 and under 12.
The format was two pools of six teams, in each age group, with the top two teams progressing to the semi-finals and the winners of these contesting the finals.
After all the pool games had been played, the four teams through to the under eight semi-final were Hundleton, Burry Port, Tenby and Camrose. The first semi-final saw Tenby beat Camrose by two goals to nil, while the second semi was won by Burry Port, who beat Hundleton by three goals to nil.
The exciting final was won by Tenby by three goals to nil and the player of the final, picked by the referee, was James Gardner from Tenby's team.
The under 10 tournament was equally as exciting, with Tenby, Burry Port, Hakin United and Hundleton all progressing to the semi-finals. The first semi was between Tenby's under 10 and Burry Port, which saw Tenby win with one goal and Burry Port not scoring.
The second semi saw Hakin United score two goals, with Hundleton scoring no goals, but it was a very good game.
The final of this group was won by Hakin United, who beat Tenby by a single goal, in a very close match. The player of this final, again picked by the referee, was Henry McBeth, of Tenby.
Both the under 12 semi-finals were very close as well and any two of the four teams could have gone through. However, Tenby under 12s narrowly beat their under 11s by one goal to nil and this was quoted as being the game of the tournament.
Albion Rovers, of Cwmbran, beat the Devils under 12 team of Caerphilly by the same score.
This final was a very tense affair, but Albion Rovers just edged Tenby's under 12 team one-nil and the player of the final was Brandon Jones from Rovers, as selected by the ref.
All the trophies, which were sponsored by Andrew Price, were presented to the winners, runners-up and player of the final by Matthew Broadhurst, chairman of the Tenby Round Table.
However, no tournament can commence without referees and the Round Table are very grateful to Gavin Scotcher, Alun Morgan, Peter Horsley, Gareth Warlow, Elliot Scotcher, Dan Storer, Joe Farrell, Greg Palin and Robert Davies, who donned the black shirts.
Grateful thanks also go to Kevin Ferney, Teresa Kendrick, Glenys Johns and Chris 'Bonjour' Fairlie, who provided the refreshments, and to the raffle ticket sellers, Polly Scotcher and Lois Horsley, who also did an excellent job.
The winner of the £30 raffle prize was Ryan, of Albion Rovers.
