After last week's less than impressive showing against Prendergast Villa, Kilgetty put matters right with a magnificent 4-0 home win over Monkton Swifts, a result that no-one in the county would have predicted.

In stark contrast to his morose mood following the Villa defeat, Kilgetty manager Norman James was beaming from ear to ear.

"What was most pleasing was the fact we kept a clean sheet. We had four boys out from last week, so to play the way we did was very pleasing. If we had taken our chances we could've scored more."

Kilgetty scored a brace of goals in each half, with the first two in particular being stand-out efforts. Mike Beynon was the first to shine with a 25-yard top corner shot, while Grant James equalled this soon after from the same distance.

The second half was just as impressive for James's men as Beynon completed a fine hat-trick, the final goal coming in the last minute of the match.

There was a complete reversal of fortune for Narberth, meanwhile, as they travelled to Merlins Bridge and lost 4-0 to the league leaders.

There were mitigating circumstances for this, however, as they lost three influential players during the game. Richie Adams was first off with a hamstring problem, while Justin Blewitt left injured soon after. Throw in the fact that Raff Barnett hobbled off in the second half and you could sense Bluebirds' manager Nigel Thomas's frustration.

"I'm not making excuses, but losing the players didn't help. They deserved to win fair and square, but what frustrated me most was the fact we didn't respond and didn't look like doing so. We lacked a bit of fire in our belly for some reason."

Tenby warmed up for their top-table clash against Merlins Bridge this coming Saturday with a 3-0 home win over Herbrandston. The victory came despite having Dean Rossiter, Anthony Griffiths and Callum Proctor unavailable. Rossiter and Griffiths should be back for the clash against the Wizards, although the extent of Proctor's injury which he sustained against Neyland two weeks ago, is still unknown.

Despite comfortably winning the game, the Seasiders were only 1-0 up at the break following a Tom Merrion goal. He followed this up with another in the second half and young Jordan Richards finished the game off with a fine strike towards the end.

Manager Mike Lewis said it was a good win, although he refrained from predicting this weekend's mouth-watering clash.

"Next week will be tough, there's no getting away from that, but this was a good win against a good team. We played better against the wind than with it to be honest. We kept the ball on the deck and that suited us more."

Raymond Davies may have sponsored Pendine's away game at Letterston, but his generosity didn't bring any joy to the Seagulls as they lost 9-3.

Despite the hefty scoreline, the game was tied 2-2 at the break as Letterston took an early two-goal lead, only for this to be cancelled out with scores from Steve Jones and Wayne Evans, the latter's coming straight from the corner as the wind blew it in.

In the second half, the floodgates opened as Letterston seized control with the wind at their backs and, despite a Robbie Waters consolation score at the end, the home side added seven more goals to their first half tally.

"We had a weakened side again," said Pendine's Paul Langdon. "We took a chance with the wind in the first half, but it backfired for us in the second as they we got tired and they got stronger."

Saundersfoot Sports performed well to hold Division Two leaders Johnston to a 1-1 draw. Tom Baker's goal secured a share of the spoils for the home team as the Tigers failed to roar, despite their aggressive recruitment drive of late

St. Clears entertained Carew in their Division Two clash and showed their class in a 3-1 win. With the wind at their backs for the first half, the home side went a goal down early on after Ian Sefton scored, before the home team responded with goals from Gareth Griffiths and two from Eddie Wiggins.

Although this gave the Saints a nice cushion for the second half, they were indebted to the woodwork for giving them the points as Richard Bullock hit the post and Adam Hughes hit the bar with a long range effort towards the end of the game.

Carew's Richard Bullock said his side took a nap after taking the lead.

"We didn't really deserve anything after our first half performance. We went to sleep after we scored and they took advantage."

Narberth's second team are through to the next round of the Third Division Cup after beating Herbrandston Seconds 4-1 at home.

Player manager Mark O'Sullivan gave the Bluebirds a 1-0 interval lead with his 12th goal of the season, before an own goal put Narberth 2-0 up. Substitute Cody Clews made it 3-0, before Herbie responded with one of their own, but Tom Richards made sure of progressing into the next round with a fine header from a Davy Johns cross.

"We've carried on our fine run of form," said O'Sullivan. "We were on top after 15 minutes and should have scored more really."

Manorbier United travelled to Monkton Swifts and lost out 4-2, despite goals from Jamie Bradfield and Mike Ryder, meaning all the have to play for is the league.

In Division Four, Carew Seconds entertained their counterparts form Saundersfoot Sports and drew 1-1. Julian Ianescu scored for the home team, while former Carew forward Carl Wainwright knocked one in for the Sports.

Tenby Seconds travelled to Clarbeston Road and demolished them 9-1, while St. Florence entertained Milford United and won 3-1 with goals from Jamie Roberts, Ashley Smith and Scott Smith.

Finally, in Division Five, Kilgetty Seconds won 5-4 away at Fishguard thanks to goals from Matthew Smith, Richard Cope and a Duane Rossiter hat-trick, while Pendine Seconds lost 3-2 at home against Lawrenny, as Steve Thomas and Wesley Reynolds scored the goals for the Gulls, while Phil Cole, Adam Jenkins and Rhys Jenkins secured the points for the visitors.
