Tenby Bowling Club member Cameron White had plenty to smile about on Monday evening as his photograph seen right shows.

He won his first major competition, the county Under 18s singles, beating none other than Welsh U18s champion, Ryan Thomas, a member of Haverfordwest Bowling Club, 21-18.

Ryan, who had already won the Under 25s competition, was looking to do the 'double double' after winning both contests last year.

Played at Milford Haven, the home of this year's county president, Barry Howells, the final was an excellent game.

Close early on, Cameron led 11 - 10, but then he seemed to loose concentration and Ryan pulled away to lead 17-11. Cameron however fought back and got his game together, going in front 19-18.

With Cameron having the last bowl, he was holding one, possibly two on a measure. He sent his bowl taking the jack back for a definite three to win the match.

Both Cameron (U18s) and Ryan (U25s) will now represent Pembrokeshire in the Welsh finals to be held in Llandrindod Wells next month.
