Sunday saw the third annual Pembrokeshire Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride attract its largest number of riders to date.

A total of 58 riders were among 92,375 around the globe who raised funds and awareness for prostate cancer and mental health issues dressed in dapper gear. There were 107 riders registered for the Pembrokeshire event and the total amount raised in Pembrokeshire stands at £6,899.

Assembling at Saundersfoot harbour, where there was music and speeches, the riders headed to Tenby and onto the Tesco branches in Pembroke Dock, Milford Haven and Haverfordwest and then Narberth Food Festival and back to Saundersfoot.

Although the weather was against the event, Steve Dean, organiser, was pleased with the turnout, which made it a success.

“The ride was very successful,” said Steve. “We engaged with a lot of people and had lots of people waving to us, creating a great atmosphere around the route.”

Planning for the 2018 Pembrokeshire ride will begin after Christmas.
