Nerys Evans AM and Tenby County Councillor Mike Williams have called upon Pembrokeshire County Council to improve road safety and introduce traffic calming measures at Crackwell Street, overlooking the town's harbour.
Crackwell Street was recently used as a diversion due to works in Tudor Square.
Nerys Evans AM said: "Residents are quite concerned about the speeding traffic along Crackwell Street. There is no pavement and properties are located directly on the edge of the road. Residents step out directly on to the highway. This is also a busy route during the summer months as a great many tourists use this route to walk down to the harbour.
"I feel that traffic calming measures are necessary along Crackwell Street and have asked Pembrokeshire County Council officials to undertake a safety assessment at this location."
Clr. Michael Williams added: "Action needs to be taken to slow down traffic on this narrow street. There are no pavements and elderly residents step out directly onto the road.
"We also have asked the local authority to investigate the stability of the shale cliff at this location as the entire area has been prone to slides over many years."
