For the second year running, the British Slot Car Championship are heading to Narberth this weekend for a two day racing event. After a very successful meeting last year, the entry expected is to be nearly double this year and more local drivers will be taking part which will be great for everyone involved. The raceway has become a very popular venue for corporate and private parties and has achieved well over 250 birthday parties for the younger ones in the year-and-a-half that they have been trading. Go and see the racing for yourself, it's amazing how these drivers keep the cars on the track at speeds of up to 65 mph (scaled speed of 1,500 mph). There is no admittance fee, it's free to go in and watch and, there will be a barbecue on Saturday evening. Local drivers will be Brian Latimer Davies, Dafydd Wright, Aled Tayler, Zac Bunce, Peter Priestley, Chris Rees, Emyr Tayler and Tom Banner. The timetable will be: Today (Friday) - practice, 10 am - late; Tomorrow (Saturday) - qualifying day and racing, 8 am - late; Sunday - qualifying and racing 8 am - 4 pm.
