Take a look at these two photographs. Do you recogonise any similarities? Well believe it or not, they're of the same person!

Forty-one-year-old Stewart Pearce, of Narberth, was 24 stone in 2003, but a change of lifestyle - including diet and exercise regime - now sees him weigh an amazing 14.5 stone.

A butcher at Heywood's of Saundersfoot, Stewart now enjoys taking part in marathons as his main hobby.

Sponsored by Andy Groves, of Hidden Jewel Tattoos, Carmarthen, he's already conquered the Pembrokeshire Coastal Challenge, the Brecon - Cardiff Ultra Marathon, Wye Valley Marathon and the Long Course Weekend marathon, but in April will take on his toughest challenge to date.

He's signed up for the stupidly hard Oner ultra trail run along the Jurassic coast path in Dorset.

It's a 78.6 mile event, but with elevation, it's more like 82 miles, which competitors have 24 hours to complete.

Stewart's motivation is the reason he has decided to take part.

He's raising money to help with the care of his seriously ill mother-in-law.

Syliva Kilby, the popular stewardess of the RAOB Club in Narberth, has been a patient at Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest since being paralysed from the waist down by TB of the spine.

"I am hoping to raise funds to buy medical equipment which will aid her recovery and help with daily life around the house," said Stewart.

"Sylvia has been a pillar of the community in Narberth. She is such a well-liked and loved lady and really needs the community's help now. I am hoping people who know her and who have been supported by her in the past, will now rally round and pull together in her hour of need."

Stewart is appealing for fundraising donations which can be left at Heywood's butchers or at various outlets in Narberth where sponsor forms can be found.
