Peter Searles bought a ticket, jumped on a plane and set off for South American sunshine. No Rough Guide in the world could have prepared him for the consequences.
Following his success with the Hey Gringo! trilogy at the Edinburgh Festival, the Soho Theatre and recently at the National Theatre, Peter Searles is back at the Queen's Hall, Narberth, to recount the tale of his adventures in 'Bolivia and Beyond'.
A journey across Bolivia, lawless cities, jungle night clubs, illegal loggers and a New Zealand Nazi are just some of the bizarre sequence of encounters that lead finally to a lost world in remotest Amazonia and a sacred mountain shrouded in mystery and myth.
What's On magazine said of Peter Searles "... an eminently likable, extremely charismatic and highly skilled storyteller who is wholly excellent company." This is endorsed by sell-out audiences for the previous parts of his solo trilogy at the Queen's Hall.
He has recently been invited to perform this show at the Bermuda Festival and he will soon adapt it for a future series for BBC Radio 4.
A seemingly endless pot of fascinating stories, always well told, make for a spellbinding evening presented by SPAN at the Queen's Hall on Saturday, March 9, starting at 7.30 pm. Tickets are available from the box office on (01834) 861212.
