A meeting to discuss forming a committee to move forward with plans to extend Tenby’s skateboard park has been arranged.

The town council revealed recently that several youngsters who used the facility alongside the Jubilee Play Area, overlooking South Beach, had enquired over the possibility of it being extended, as they felt it wasn’t big enough.

Speaking at Monday night’s meeting of the town council, the Deputy Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown, told her colleagues that she and the town clerk, Andrew Davies, had been working really hard to see what they could do about extending the park, and invited youngsters and parents to a meeting to be held at the De Valence on May 24, at 6 pm, to take place in the Mayor’s Parlour.

She said that a committee needed to be formed to be a constituted group to obtain the £130,000 funding required to enhance and extend the facility.

Clr. Brown urged anyone interested in joining the ‘skateboard park committee’ to come along to the meeting.
