Members off Tenby’s newly-formed skatepark committee are looking for sponsorship to enter the summer carnival.
Speaking at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council, Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown told her colleagues that the committee had now been formed to move forward with plans to extend the skateboard park overlooking the South Beac‘h, and had been named the Jubilee Play and Skate Park Association’.
Somewhere in the region of £130,000 funding is required to enhance and extend the facility, and quotes are now being sought from firms to carry out the work after several youngsters who used the facility, had enquired over the possibility of it being made bigger.
“The kids are very enthusiastic and are looking for sponsorship of T-Shirts to wear when they enter the Tenby Retained Firefighters Carnival in August,” said Clr. Mrs. Brown.
“To get the funding in we need to involve the kids as well, and we are now applying for grants towards the funding,” she added.
