A skate park in Tenby could be a step closer, with the town council looking at the possibility of seeking permission to lease land on the Jubilee for the facility.

Town clerk Mr. Andrew Davies told members of the council at their meeting on Tuesday night that he and Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown had had a very productive site meeting with Pembrokeshire County Council's Sinead Henehan and community development officer, Alex Allison, to look at what was achievable at the location.

Mr. Davies said that he was now waiting to see the concept designs for the skate park, before deciding what equipment could be installed.

He added that they would also be looking at what funding options were available and were going to invite other local organisations to join a skate park sub-committee to move the project forward.

Clr. Mike Evans thanked Mr. Davies for his efforts in getting the project into gear.

"Once we decide on what scheme we want to go with, we can keep the speed of its progress going and maybe have something more concrete by April," said Clr. Evans.
