In the year they celebrate their 60th anniversary, Saundersfoot Girl Guides have been given 60 challenges to complete throughout the year. The girls have been busy with various projects in the community, most recently taking prizes in the Saundersfoot In Bloom competition and at the village's carnival. Also, to mark the anniversary, the group want any old photographs of previous members and groups on Guide outings to be sent in ahead of a reunion party that will be scheduled for the end of the year. "Although we discovered an old photograph of the Saundersfoot girl group taken back in 1920, we believe that those Guides disbanded and that the organisation we have today officially registered in 1947, so to mark the occasion of 60 years we are looking to have a reunion party in the village for previous members and also trace any historic pictures," explained Guide leader, Christine Morse. "We've also been working hard to raise the profile of the current group and have seen the numbers rise from eight members to 30 fairly recently, so we're very keen to help out where we can in the Saundersfoot community and welcome any ideas for challenges," she added.
