Tenby and Manorbier Coastguard Rescue Teams, the South Pembs. sector manager, Tenby RNLI all-weather and inshore lifeboats all responded to a 999 call reporting six people and a dog cut off by the tide near Monkstone Point at 1 pm on Friday.
Prior to the units arriving on scene, though, a further 999 call was received informing them that they had made the top of the cliff unaided.
The family were holidaying in the area and were from Teddington, Middlesex.
