AT a recent awards ceremony for SIMTRA students, held at the Old School premises, Saundersfoot, Clr. Mrs. Rosemary Hayes presented certificates to those who had successfully completed various courses in Old CLAIT, New CLAIT, Integrated Business Technology II, Text Processing and Diploma Stage II.
SIMTRA, begun over 10 years ago, continues to be a highly successful scheme for introducing modern technology into rural areas of West Wales and amongst the successful candidates was Eva Rich, of Sun Valley, Westfield Road, Saundersfoot, who lost her sight early in life.
Over the years, Eva has been employed by the South Wales Electricity Board at offices in Tenby, Haverfordwest and Carmarthen, and her latest achievement has been her certificate for text processing.
With Clr. Hayes and Eva in our picture are her personal tutor Jenny Greener and her third trusty guide dog.
