Pupils at Stackpole School pupils have been praised for their efforts in caring for the environment.
The South Pembrokeshire school was presented with a Silver Sustainable Schools award last week.
Clr. Huw George, cabinet member for children, young people and learning, paid a visit to the school to present them with the award and see for himself the work they are doing.
Pupils have been studying ways of saving energy and investigating the advantages and disadvantages of living in a village community.
Their green fingers were in evidence when they presented Clr. George and Janie Pridham, Pembrokeshire's sustainable schools officer, with bottles of elderflower cordial they had made themselves along with bags of their first crop of school grown potatoes.
"The whole school has embraced the project with enthusiasm," said headteacher Jane Rees.
"Working towards our silver award has really impacted on all our pupils and their awareness of sustainable issues has been carried home to their families."
The Sustainable Schools award recognises efforts to improve the local environment and quality of life now without damaging the planet for future generations.
